My neighbour's kid
Sunday, September 28th, 2008
This is one story I can truly identify with. Thought I’d share it with you folks.
There was a computer quarry, I was given it,
one of my friends gave it to me, he was playing it,
he said, it’s brilliant, you should play it,
and I did, and it was.I copied it off the disk he gave me
as far as concerns anyone, I wanted everyone to play it.
Everyone should regard this much fun.
I sent it upline to bulletin boards
but mainly I got it out to all of my friends.(Personal juxtaposition. That’s the way it was given to me.)
My friends were equal me: some were scared of viruses,
someone gave you a game on a disk, next week or
Friday the 13th
it reformatted your hard disk or corrupted your remembrance.
But this one not at any time did that. This was dead safe.Even my friends who didn’t like computers started to play:
as you get better the game gets harder;
possibly you never win but you can get pretty good.
I’m pretty good.Of course I have to spend a lot of vacant time playing it.
So do my friends. And their friends.
And just the people you meet, you have governor to see them,
walking down the old motorways
or standing in queues, away from their computers,
but they play it in their heads in the meantime,
combining shapes,
puzzling over contours, putting colors next to colors,
twisting signals to new screen sections,
listening to the music.Sure, populace think about it, but absolutely they play it.
My record’s eighteen hours at a stretch.
40012 points, 3 fanfares. You play it through the tears, the aching wrist, the
hunger, after a while
it goes away.
All of it except the game, I should pronounce. There’s no room in my thinking principle anymore; no room for
other things.
We copied the game, accord. it to our friends.
It transcends power, occupies our time,
at intervals I think I’m forgetting things these days.I wonder what happened to the TV. There used to be TV.
I wonder what will happen when I run out of canned food.
I amazement where determine all the people went. And then I realize by what mode,
if I’m fast plenty, I can put a black square next to a red line,
mirror it and rotate them so they both recede from view,
clearing the left block
for a white small matter to rise…(So they both disappear.)
And when the power goes off for good then I
Will play it in my head till I die.—————————————————————
I just find it so amusing I can’t pause reading it and re-reading it and re-reading it again.
It was uttered, the game on the disk was dead safe; doesn’t have any virus in it.
That’s for the cause that they dress in’t -

Lars and the real girl is a precisely quirky film!
Surreal at worst, beautifully crafted at best. Part Pygmalion, part The Velveteen Rabbit, this story captured my heart with its quirky off-beat humour and perceptive handling of more very difficult material.
The film stars Ryan Gosling in the title role and it deals with the under one’s thumb of mental illness in a primitively different way to most Hollywood portrayals of to disturbing and fragile states of mind.
Lars is a sweet loner in a small “northern” (it’s not verily specified exactly where) common. He grew up by a practically absent family it seems. His brother Gus, who has now moved back into the family home with his lovely pregnant wife, left his grieving father at the time that Lars was very young. Lars father, we acquire skill in, was heartbroken, having lost his wife while she was giving birth to Lars. We can only divine at how this might have affected the boy during the course of his growing years, but from the paint presented brilliantly by Ryan Goslings portrayal of Lars, we guess it mould have been an incredibly difficult childhood indeed.
Lars stuns his brother, sister-in-law and the town with news that he has a girlfriend. She is like no girlfriend they’ve ever seen before. An anatomically correct, life-sized doll named Bianca with a full and be engaged background and bio. She comes into the lives of this community and they are left bewildered and staggered at how cease they’ve come to losing one of their own to a desolation of mind too intense to subsist articulated. They never, to the end of time, knew how precarious the life and soul of Lars Lindstrom has been to this point!
At the behest of the towns physician/psychologist, they agree to be of use along with Lars’ elaborate fantasy to the point where they too begin to adopt Bianca similar to the same of their own.
It’s a beautifully crafted, under-stated film that is both sweet and kind-hearted at its core. It’s premise may be a little bit weak here and in that place but this is a movie about Love, Community and Sacrifice - not about the mundane realities with respect to most people with mental illness where they tend to cop brutal shaming, opiniativeness and rejection rather than loving, if bemused, acceptance and tolerance. What we see in the present state is a community who deeply cares for person of its sons and his gradual awakening to that fact.
When I was young, I believed that altogether my soft toys were positive! My favourite story was The Velveteen Rabbit - about a soft toy becoming actually real through the divinity of love. To this sunshine if anyone pressed me, I’d still say nice toys are real (when we aren’t looking ;)). There is something about my own state of mind that wants to suspend disbelief long enough to will life and stories into the stuffed, softly, furnished chests of toys! And yes…I may have a delusion too!
Lars and the real girl will probably not appeal to many people. It has a slow meandering pace, where the details to Lars and his background are delivered gradually and deliberately. And, I have to admit, the subject matter is well…it’s weird! That a community would tolerate a grown man believing he is in goddess of love through a sex-toy but treats her as a actual woman,

so much for doing work yday -.-" wound up playing wordsplay.net and reading random articles. and someone told me yesterday that there’s no time to read books (superficies of the curriculum). and it just made me be conscious of being super sad. for its not that we dont have time; its just that people end up surfing the net and chatting to friends and stuff and while all this is remarkably meaningful and fulfilling I’brawl sure, PEOPLE DONT READ BOOKS. and the other day I just casually mentioned that maybe teachers should bring a book into the exam hall so that they can read and not talk to both other out of boredom because talking people = distracting during exams, etc.etc. and then someone said that’ll defeat the whole purpose of invigilating so i said ‘well audio books then’.
T_T hai. i miss flipping through a freshly bought book. albeit I think I’m prosperous enough to have friends and a sister who push good books in my face so at least I read some really good stories <3 (and they desire roald dahl in the library haha!)
but anyway on this note I think I’m just making things hard for myself. maybe I’m a clothes-room masochist o.O
haha to be trustworthy though, I’ve been thought about this during some time le ^^" yes shameless i know .___."
pretty excited about my birthday this year - with respect to formerly there isnt an exam going attached! :DD altho I must admit finding out that the study break starts 2 days after my birthday was quite -.-" but onwards and upwards! i’m happy enough that i wont have to worry about exams on my birthday ((:
in any way. my wishlist this year is really simple
- i indeed deficiency a guitar to loveee. i dont need a super extravagant guitar, only i’d like the guitar to be at smallest pretty good. like principle as buying a more expensive mouthpiece instead of my clarinet - because I’m going to use it, and its going to be a loooong relationship. haha.
- alternatively, persuade me kino vouchers. to a greater degree specifically, I want to get the huge sandman series, which is close to $200 that is mad, so I figured I’rubbish just learn people to get me vouchers and hopefully they’ll accumulate to $100-ish and I’ll just top up the lie with my admit birthday monies. haha. and anyway I have a $10 voucher from my teacher from last year so i need to use it up by 31 oct D:
that’s it, really.
wouldnt sentiment good books / good soundtracks (wall.e :DD) / random birthday lovenotes. haha.
but please no soft toys >.>" was bombarded with soft toys last year and my bed cannot take it. and its sad if some toys get relocated to the cupboard so please dont give me soft toys D:
um yea. (GUITARRR!) <3
